Our Pastor
Dr. Marion M. Crayton was appointed as pastor of the Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Baltimore, Maryland by Bishop James Levert Davis at the 2024 Washington Annual Conference. Prior to this, she was pastor of Ebenezer AME Church-Charlotte Hall located in Mechanicsville, Maryland. Ordained as an ItinerantElder in 2015 at the Washington Annual Conference of the AME Church, she has also served on the clergy staff of Turner Memorial AME Church in Hyattsville, Maryland and the clergy staff of St. Paul AME Church in Northwest Washington, DC.
She has served with ministries for the inclusion of persons who are differently abled, women’s ministries, and as the Minister to Congregational Care where she ministered to over one hundred families who had lost a loved one. She has facilitated international GriefShare grief support sessions for over eight years.
She is an Education Program Specialist with the United States Department of Education. In this role she analyzes States’ data for compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). She regularly collaborates with State Education Agencies to provide technical assistance and support. She has a keen interest in thefoundations of reading and interpreting data to determine progress across populations of elementary school students.
Crayton earned a Doctor of Education degree in 2000 from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. She earned a Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC in 2004.
Dr. Crayton is married to Clarence Crayton who was Boy Scout Director of the Connectional AME Church and currently serves as the treasurer. He is the Membership Chair of the Religious Relationship Committee of the Boy Scouts of America.
He is an Associate Board Member of the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts ofAmerica. He is the chartered organization representative for Troop 487. He has an earned Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Tennessee and is currently Vice President of Columbia Enterprise, a Construction and Design Build Company.
They have two adult children and 4 grandchildren.
